I am
not a big fan of German wines but unquestionably JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr
is my go-to-wine. It is yough there is a slight effervescence that is in
perfect balance with the sweetness and acidity. As it ages, the majestic
Riesling grape turns rich and mouth filling all the while keeping the acidty
so the wine never tastes cloying. Balance is the best word to describe Prum
wines.

ago, I was in Bordeaux and I went to a bar with a few other wine retailers
and I had a Jameson with Ginger Ale and really enjoyed it, especially after
drinking wine all day. For some unknown reason, I got a craving for it again
a couple of days ago and it was great. I think I liked it because it was
not too sweet and no caffiene. My wife tried one also and she is hooked..

Earthquake Zinfandel |

Zinfandel is a
uniquely American wine. Until the hated white zinfandel wine was introduced, Zinfandel had a wonderful reputation.
Now, when someone asks for a Zinfandel, I always have to ask if they mean the "pink" kind. This is a real RED zinfandel made in
the old school method. Big, rich, thick, & chewy. I particulary like this wine because it has wonderful balance; The oak is in balance with the fruit and tannins.
All parts are in wonderful balance.

In
the world of California Chardonays, Newton is at the top. They did not start
the Unfiltered bottlings but the made it into an artform. THe wine has a
richness and depth which is not commonly found in California wines. The
current vintage receieved 96 points from Robert Parker. This is easily the
best Chardonnay that can be found.

We
sell tons of Moscatos in our retail store. They are so easy to drink,
that they are finished before you know it. Totally addicting. I happen
to like this producer. Freshness is the key with this type of wine and
this is just in. Just imagine peaches and apricots, slightly fizzy, slightly
sweet.

It
is getting tougher and tougher to find a reasonably priced bordeaux. Sure,
you can buy futures and wait 2 years yeas to take delivery but with the
escalation of the 2005 vintage; there are not many good buys. This wine
from the much heralded 2000 vintage is drinking wonderfully. It is small
production (~700 cases) and 90% Merlot. Don't miss it.
